GYROKINESIS® method
Gyrokinesis was originally devised as ‘Yoga for Dancers’ and does not use equipment other than a stool and a mat. However you don’t need to be a dancer because the classes can be tailored to ability.
Gyrokinesis movements open energy pathways, stimulate the fascial system and nervous system, strengthening the core and increasing mobility. A Gyrokinesis class flows more than a pilates mat class or yoga class and can range from very gentle and healing, to strenuous & challenging
Group classes
I don’t currently have room for group classes in my studio but am very happy to arrange a group class in your own venue, workplace, school or online.
Who can do it?
Gyrokinesis class is suitable for all abilities including the elderly, but those recovering from an injury or surgery might be better off having some 1-1 Gyrotonic sessions first in order for me to assess suitability.
Gyrokinesis class provided in your workplace or other venue makes an excellent addition to a corporate wellbeing program, as a gentle workout for elderly & dementia patients, or as part of a conference package.
Gyrokinesis® for dancers
As a former principal dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet, I can provide specialist classes for dancers either for small groups in my studio or in your own school/company studio. Gyrokinesis method is an excellent way to prepare the body at the start of a season, as well as an ongoing training method. It develops length in the muscles, core strength and breath awareness and is also ideal rehab for injured dancers when they cannot do regular class.
Gyrokinesis® for athletes
Gyrokinesis is starting to be recognised by footballers and athletes as a way to maintain flexibility, balance and elasticity on recovery days, it also enhances rehabilitation and cross training when combined with traditional strength and conditioning work.
